A sector overlay adapts a CAF assessment to a specific sector, such as energy. You choose it on the Setup tab; the core CAF stays available as the sector-agnostic option.
What an overlay adds
- Sector interpretation under individual outcomes: what the outcome tends to mean in that sector's environments, shown beneath the official wording.
- Additional outcomes where the sector expects things the core CAF does not cover; these are marked as sector additions and counted separately in reports.
- An exception systems register for systems that cannot meet an expectation.
Why ours are indicative
Sector wording in XIRIQ is XIRIQ's own indicative interpretation, written to help you think about the outcome in sector terms. It is not the regulator's overlay text, and the app says so wherever sector content appears. For a regulatory submission, always work from the regulator's published material; the overlay helps you prepare, not comply.
How overlay content is shown
Sector interpretation is visually distinct and labelled as sector guidance; it is never merged into the framework wording, so you can always tell what is CAF and what is interpretation. Where a variant adds outcomes of its own, the report states core and sector-specific counts separately rather than blending them into one number.
