File attachments

Attachments let you store files on evidence records. They are off by default because the reference model is the intended way to work; turning them on is a deliberate choice.

Off by default

With attachments off, no upload control appears anywhere in the app. Nothing else changes: records, links, statuses and reports all work identically. Accounts that already had uploads from earlier versions keep the setting on, with legacy files carried onto their records.

Enabling attachments

  1. Open Account from the header open Account .
  2. Turn on the file attachments setting.
  3. An attach control appears on each record in the Evidence tab. Accepted: pdf, png, jpg, docx and xlsx, up to 10 MB per file.
The Preferences card on the Account page with the file attachments toggle, off by default.

Attachments are only downloadable by you; deleting a record or the assessment removes its files.

When you might use them

  • Evidence with no stable home, such as an exported screenshot or a one-off test result, where a reference would point nowhere.
  • A self-contained assessment package where the reviewer will not have access to your document systems.

For documents that live in a proper document management system, keep citing them by reference: a second copy in XIRIQ only drifts out of date.
